Social

Golden West Resources acknowledges the Martu people in particular the Tarlpa and Wiluna native title claimants as the Traditional Owners of the land at Wiluna West on which we operate, and we recognise that Martu have the right to derive social and economic benefits from our activities on their land.

In July 2010, Golden West Resources and the Tarlpa Native Title Claimants signed a Mining Agreement, a significant milestone that will allow the development of commercial iron ore and gold mining projects at the Company's Wiluna West Project.

Golden West Resources Chairman David Sanders said "a Native Title Agreement is about the relationship between the parties, one entrenched in mutual trust and respect."

"These are the fundamental building blocks of friendship and the sincere and open way the Martu People have approached this agreement has demonstrated that friendship," he said.

The mining agreement encompasses a number of employment, cultural and business initiatives.

Already, GWR's site based workforce is largely indigenous and the Company continues to work with local businesses, including indigenous businesses, to channel as much spending as possible into the local community.

Scholarships

Golden West Resources have a commitment to the youth of Wiluna who represent the building blocks for the community's long-term strength.

GWR have in place scholarships to the Clontarf Football Academy for boys and scholarships to the Rolemodels Australia Academy for girls of Wiluna.

These programs encourage the young to remain in education as well as offering them a chance to chase their dreams of sporting success and will continue to be part of the Company's thinking into the future.
